Summit Awarded $12 Million Contract to Build Affordable Housing Apartments in Downtown Jacksonville, FL
November 14, 2017
Summit has started construction on Lofts at Monroe, an affordable housing community in the LaVilla neighborhood of Downtown Jacksonville, FL. This is the second project Summit is building in LaVilla with the same developer, Vestcor. The first project, Lofts at LaVilla is opening by the new year and is 100% leased with a waiting list.
“LaVilla has been dormant for a while, and is now catching up with the urban renewal of neighboring Riverside and Brooklyn. The retail development follows the residential component in most cases. I give the mayor and the City Council a lot of credit for recognizing the needs here.” - Marc Padgett, President of Summit Contracting Group, www.Summit-Contracting.com
Lofts at Monroe will consist of 108 units in 1 building that has 4 levels of wood frame above 1 level that includes parking, amenity areas and retail. The net square footage is 108,131. Amenities include a covered parking garage, controlled access, fitness center, internet café, lounge, bike storage, and dog walk. Construction has started and will be complete in Fall 2018. The developer is Vestcor and the architect is Group 4 Design, Inc.
