Summit & Nonprofits Partner to Build Wheelchair Ramp for Family

The James Russell Fund, Builders Care and Summit Contracting Group joined forces to build a brand-new wheelchair accessible ramp for a Jacksonville family.

Check out news story from News4Jax:

Summit Contracting Group recently connected with The James Russell Fund through an employee who had attended Highschool with the organization’s founder, James Russell. James, a 23-year-old living with Cerebral Palsy, incorporated The James Russell Fund in June of 2018 with the mission of giving back to the local community that has already given him such strong support throughout his life.

Building on their shared goals for community impact, The James Russell Fund and Summit Contracting Group organized a silent auction last month at Bono’s BBQ in Neptune Beach. The auction showcased various donated items, the proceeds from which were then presented to Builders Care to be allocated towards the construction of a wheelchair accessible ramp.

Builders Care has helped hundreds of people in Northeast Florida in need of critical home repairs. For many low-income residents, owning a home is a burden, when there are no funds to repair or maintain their property. The ultimate goal of Builders Care is to provide quality home reconstruction to those who are unable to afford it otherwise.

The family chosen to receive a new ramp was selected from the non-profit’s database of local families in need. All labor for the project will be donated by volunteers across all three organizations, and all materials were purchased using funds raised through the silent auction held last month.
