Summit Contracting Group wearing pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

TURN UP THE PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness

Summit Contracting Group employees are wearing pink to honor those affected by breast cancer and to help raise awareness.

We are wearing pink for our mothers, daughters, sisters, friends and coworkers.

We are committed to bringing awareness to breast cancer at our job sites, within the community and among employees.

We want to remind everyone in our lives that it is important to have health screenings and preventative check-ups.

1 in 8 Women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer.

1 in 833 Men in the US will develop breast cancer.

This year, in 2021, breast cancer became the the most common cancer globally, accounting for 12% of all new annual cancer cases (according to the World Health Organization).

Community Support: Mammograms and Health Services for Uninsured Women

There are several national and localized foundations and non-profits that help fund mammograms, patient services, and research.

Summit has donated to Pink Ribbon Jax (https://www.pinkribbonjax.org/), to provide Mammograms to uninsured women in Northeast Florida.

In spring 2022, they unveiled a new mobile mammography program in partnership with Baptist Health, called the “Buddy Bus,” that is equipped with 3D technology. It can be scheduled for groups and events: https://www.baptistjax.com/services/womens-health/breast-health/buddy-bus

Summit’s home office was thrilled to welcome Maven Mobile Mammography for a day to make it convenient for our employees to get their annual mammogram.
