Summit Employees Come Through for Local Non-Profit in Need of School Supplies

AUGUST 14, 2020:

It feels good to give to our community! We are very proud of our Summit employees for coming through on school supply donations this year. Especially now, with uncertainty and change in the learning environments – to give students a backpack and supplies for learning helps them feel cared for and seen by the community.

This year, Summit Contracting Group employees collected school supplies and face masks for the school age kids served by Hubbard House – enough for 40 kids to start their learning year!

We doubled-down on the giving by purchasing colorful, soft cotton face masks from local non-profit Rethreaded. By purchasing these masks we helped support their mission to renew hope, reignite dreams and release potential for survivors of human trafficking locally and globally through business.

Hubbard House is a non-profit shelter and resource for victims of domestic violence. Each year, Hubbard House serves 5,000 domestic violence victims — adults and children — and receives generous support from the community. Nearly half of its support comes from caring and concerned individuals and organizations.

“Our philanthropic and volunteer activities are a high priority for Summit as a company and to our employees. It’s especially important to our team to give where our support is needed most, and where those who need it will receive the most direct benefit. We choose to donate school supplies to Hubbard House because it is an organization that helps Jacksonville’s children at their most vulnerable time with vital services. School supplies may be a small part, but are essential for learning and transitioning back into school and home-life. We are honored to contribute.”
