Summit is proud to sponsor and take part in this annual tradition. It is not only a lot of fun, but also gives back to our Northeast Florida community. The Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament (GJKT) is held each year in July. This year was the 41st annual event, held July 12-17, 2021.
We also sponsor the Junior Angler part of the Tournament, whose mission is to encourage the participation of youthful fishermen in a sporting event, which encourages conservation of marine life and awareness of the necessity to protect our natural resources.
Jacksonville Marine Charities, Inc, the 501 c(3) organization behind the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament, evolved through the success of the GJKT and utilizes its proceeds to support marine science research, preservation, and education. Over the past 40 years they have donated over $650,000.
