Multifamily general contractor Summit Contracting Group and the project developer Homes Urban have started construction on Murphy’s Farm, luxury apartments in Morganton, NC.
Murphy’s Farm is located in the foothills of North Carolina with views of the mountains. The plans incorporate local history with adaptive re-use of a barn alongside the new apartments under construction. The silo barn will house the community amenities including fitness rooms, micro offices and a leasing office.

Murphy’s Farm will consist of 240 units in eight three-story buildings. Residents will enjoy spacious one and two bedroom apartment homes with a focus on comfort and high-end finishes like granite countertops and upgraded appliances. Additional amenities include a clubhouse with a fitness center, swimming pool, grilling area, fire pits, and a dog park.
A groundbreaking event took place on May 14th. In attendance were representatives from the State of North Carolina, City of Morganton, Burke County, and Western Piedmont Community College.
Construction is planned to be complete by the end of 2022.
